Where your data is stored

The app can store your information in one of three places. You choose which in Settings → System → Data Persistence.

This Device vs. Browser

Both keep data only on the current device and browser — nothing leaves your machine, and no account is needed. "This Device" is the default and handles larger amounts of data more comfortably.

On-device data is tied to this browser

If you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or use a different computer, on-device data won't follow you. For backup and multi-device access, use the Cloud.

Cloud

Cloud storage keeps your data in a secure online account so you can sign in from anywhere. It's a paid subscription (cancel anytime) and requires creating an account and signing in.

Upgrading is offered in two places, both leading through the same short wizard — account, payment, done:

  • at the end of the welcome wizard, while your data is still on this device, and
  • anytime from Settings → Your Plan → Upgrade to Cloud, which also shows the current price and what's included.

Moving from your device to the cloud

Already entered data on your device and want it in the cloud? You can import it in one step — see Import & demo data. The import copies your local data into an empty cloud account and leaves the device copy untouched.

Storage usage

For device-based storage, Settings → System shows a bar of how much space you're using versus what the browser allows, broken down by type of record.
